Product overview
Flexible, fire-certified, built for complex geometries.
Skogar® HT combines silica aerogel with a preox fiber substrate to create a flexible, drapeable sheet that conforms to curved surfaces and complex shapes. Where ST excels in flat or rigid integration, HT addresses geometries that rigid grades cannot easily accommodate — engine nacelles, fuselage frames, vehicle interiors, complex housings.
FAR 25.853 (Appendix F) certified makes HT particularly suited for aerospace fire protection, where compliance is a hard prerequisite for any cabin or fire zone application. UL94 V-0 covers non-aero use. Up to 1300 °C short-time flame exposure — higher than ST, suitable for engine bays and other high-temperature environments.
Easy to cut and laminate. Low dust. Hydrophobic surface chemistry resists moisture and limits exposure to common industrial fluids.
Typical applications
- Aircraft — engine nacelle insulation, APU thermal protection, cargo compartment fire liners
- Defense — crew compartment, engine bay protection, vehicle IR signature management
- Batteries — pack-level fire barriers, especially for aerospace battery systems requiring FAR 25.853
- Space — conformable thermal blankets, propulsion bay insulation for launch systems and upper stages
- Cryogenic systems — insulation of liquid hydrogen tanks, feed lines, and surrounding structures for aerospace and advanced mobility applications

Not sure HT is the right grade?
HT is the right choice when you need flexibility, FAR 25.853 compliance, or temperatures above ST’s range. For ultra-thin or rigid applications, choose ST. For temperatures beyond 1300 °C, see VHT & UHT.
Skogar® ST
Rigid, glass fiber substrate, from 0.5 mm. Choose ST when you need ultra-thin profile and rigidity — battery inter-cell barriers, electronics housings, thermal and IR management layers.
Skogar® VHT & UHT
Silica or ceramic fiber substrate. Up to 1400/1700 °C. FAR 25.853 certified. Choose VHT or UHT for re-entry shields, exhaust zones, and environments above 1300 °C.
